First Show in Brasov, Romania and other parts of the day

Kate and I standing in the middle of the street sporting our concert wear. Yay for the Brasov sign being up in there!

Probably the best picture ever - taken by Kate

We had our first concert of the tour last night in the town of Brasov. It was a great show and the energy from the crowd was great! How great it is to be in a room full of people who have come to have a good time. Many people came up to members of the group after the show and greeted us. After the concert this lovely couple took us to a nice restaurant and talked about their journey as a couple. It was a special thing.

I was a bit nervous before it started but Lafrae was really cool at letting me know that we are gonna have fun and then it started and it was a wonderful place to make music.

The Rhythm Road Tour May 5th to June 6th

The fact that I'm taking part in such a historical and extremely beautiful program is beyond my thought process right now. I'm extremely excited to explore, create and most importantly grow on this tour and around these wonderful people. I will be playing tuba with the Eli Yamin Blues Band, filling in for the crazy amazing tuba player and teacher Bob Stewart. I remember the day I auditioned for the jazz band at LaGuardia on my tuba! It's funny how things and people come together.

I have been rehearsing with these fabulous musicians ( LaFrae Sci, drums and Kate Mcgarry, voice) and trying to soak up as much information I can store. The music is great! So great to be playing music that you enjoy and with musicians who have this buzzing energy about what they do and how they do it. Mr. Stewart came in the last rehearsal and gave me his support and confidence in playing this tour. He is a powerhouse of knowledge and creativity! The band is SO welcoming and supportive, which has been very helpful to me in these past few weeks. I'm looking forward to creating new friendships and making great music.

The countries that we will be playing at:
Romania
Montenegro
Greece
Albania

---Washington DC
----New York City

I hope to be keeping up my interaction with friends and family during this month and I hope to put up some pictures of these places and people and so on.
